Blog Purpose

It is my goal here at mrlighthouseenthusiast.com to furnish you with interesting information about lighthouses. Here you will learn about individual lighthouses, as well as learn about the history of lighthouses in general. And in the not too distant future I’ll be publishing a newsletter that will have a “Featured Lighthouse of the Month”, details about lighthouses in need of repair and what you can do to help as well as events being held at lighthouses all across the USA, and sometimes elsewhere in the world.

My mission is simple, but important for the preservation of this important part of our history. Please read the mission statement and see what I plan to bring to you.

My Mission:

I will offer interesting and useful information about lighthouses here in the USA, and as much as possible around the world. As much as possible, all information will be checked for accuracy.

I will educate you, my reader, about lighthouses and their role in history. This will include why the need for the lighthouse when it was built and other interesting facts about the lighthouse.

I will become your one stop source for lighthouse information and memorabilia as well. Part of the profit from any purchase you make will go to the preservation efforts of lighthouses, and part will be used to travel and photograph lighthouses to learn more about individual lighthouses.

I will publish a newsletter which features a lighthouse each month with details about the lighthouse to include its history, my trip to photograph the lighthouse and the emotion I felt while I was visiting the lighthouse. My hope is this will stir your interest, and inspire action on your part if the lighthouse is in need of repair.

And I will personally continue to work toward the preservation of lighthouses. Lighthouses are more than a hobby for me, they are a passion of mine. As a lighthouse enthusiast, I hope your enthusiasm for lighthouses is whetted by visiting this blog.

If you’re like me and have a lot of photos and other important files on your computer, but don’t like backing them up to CD’s, DVD’s or an external hard drive, let me recommend this to you. It’s simple, it’s safe and it works if that nightmare called a hard drive crash ever happens. And it’s affordable.
